His research explored diamond turning of polycarbonate in order to optimize the surface finish. He worked on metals, exploring means for reducing the cutting force in order to reduce tool wear and improve surface finish.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Advanced Materials Research Lab<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><a href=\"https:\/\/jmarx.wordpress.ncsu.edu\/?page_id=133\"><strong> Composite Metal Foam<\/strong><\/a><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Jacob&#8217;s primary research during his graduate career focused on manufacturing and testing composite metal foam for armors and energy absorption applications in an effort to reduce the weight while improving their overall protection. Jacob&#8217;s work has been published in various journals and reached the top most downloaded articles for <em>Advanced Engineering Materials<\/em> and <em>Composite Structures<\/em>.
